Senior Access Control & Security Systems Technician

About FlyLock

FlyLock Security Solutions (formerly The Flying Locksmiths) provides commercial access control, video surveillance, gate operators, intercoms, and commercial door security throughout North Florida and South Georgia.

We are seeking a seasoned, hands-on commercial security technician with at least five years of substantial experience installing, programming, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial security systems.

This is a senior technical position, not an entry-level or primarily cable-pulling role. We need someone who can independently diagnose problems, complete repairs, and take ownership of service calls.

What You'll Do

Access Control: Install, program, troubleshoot, and repair commercial access-control systems, including controllers, readers, electric strikes, maglocks, REX devices, and power supplies.
Video Surveillance: Install, configure, and troubleshoot IP cameras, NVRs, video management systems, and related networking.
Gate Systems: Install, service, and troubleshoot commercial gate operators, controllers, safety devices, and access-control integrations.
Service & Repairs: Independently diagnose electrical, electronic, wiring, and network-related problems and implement effective repairs.
Site Surveys: Assess customer requirements and identify labor and materials needed for estimates.
Documentation: Maintain accurate service records, diagnostic findings, and job photographs.
Customer Service: Communicate professionally, explain solutions, and deliver quality workmanship.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of substantial hands-on commercial electronic security experience.
Demonstrated ability to independently program, diagnose, and repair commercial access-control systems.
Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting IP video surveillance systems.
Practical experience servicing commercial gate operators/controllers and their integration with access-control systems.
Strong understanding of electrified door hardware, power supplies, relays, wiring, and networking.
Proficiency using diagnostic tools, laptops, and manufacturer programming software.
Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
Valid driver's license and ability to meet company vehicle insurance requirements.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Experience primarily limited to pulling cable or assisting installers does not meet the requirements for this position.

Preferred Experience

Experience with Brivo, PDK, Genea, HID, Honeywell, Bosch, Axis, Hanwha, or comparable commercial security platforms.

Commercial door hardware, locksmithing, automatic doors, and intercom experience are additional advantages.
